Thiruthani Murugan Temple is a popular Hindu temple situated on a hill at Thiruthani in Tamil Nadu. Lord Murugan, also known as Kartikeya, is the main deity worshiped here. This is one of the six holy abodes of Lord Murugan, which is called Arupadaiveedu. Step numbering on the hill is 365 and, as told in the legend, represents 365 days of a year. The temple is said to have been built by the Pallavas kings in the 9th and 10th centuries and later restored by the Chola kingsĀ³. The temple is open from 5:45 AM in the morning till 9:00 PM in the evening. Poojas are performed by the priests throughout the day with high specialties.
