How to Reach Kondagattu Temple in 2025 (Simple Guide)
Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple is a very famous temple, this temple is actually located in the state of Telangana, India. It is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is surrounded by beautiful hills and nature.
By Road (Car, Taxi, or Bus)
- Kondagattu Temple is located near Jagtial town in Jagitial district, Telangana so many lakhs of people are visited here.
- You can take a bus or car from nearby cities like Karimnagar (35 km away) or Hyderabad (180 km away) to reach this temple.
- From Jagtial the temple is just 15 km away so You can take a local auto-rickshaw or taxi.
- TSRTC buses are available from Karimnagar and Hyderabad to Jagtial and Kondagattu just try to get them instead of renting any auto.

There are many yellow number plate vehicles (taxis and autos) that mostly come from Jagtial.
If you need rooms, they are available on the left side of the road near the parking area. The view from here is beautiful. The main entrance of the temple is straight ahead.

Seethamma’s Tears and Legends
As we go further, on the right side, you will see small water pits called Seethamma’s tears.
It is believed that during the exile period of Lord Rama, when Sita saw his hardships, her tears fell here and formed these small pits.

The Origin of Kondagattu Anjaneya Temple
During exile, after Ravana abducted Sita, Lord Rama fought a great war. In that war, Lakshmana fainted. To revive him, Hanuman was sent to bring the Sanjeevani herb.
While carrying the Sanjeevani mountain, a piece of the mountain fell here, and thus, this sacred hill of Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy was formed.
Prasadam Counters and Main Temple
Now, near the main temple, you can see prasadam counters on the side.
We are now near the main temple entrance. During rush hours, there are separate queues for special darshan. Special darshan tickets cost ₹50.
The temple premises look peaceful and neat.

Inside the Main Temple
This is the main entrance of Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple. Mobile phones are not allowed inside. The temple timings are shown on the display screen at the entrance.
On the left side, you can see people lying down they are mostly those suffering from spiritual or mental afflictions. They stay here for 41 days, sleep near the Betala Swamy temple, and complete their vow.
You can see the main temple tower (gopuram) from here it looks beautiful.
The Sacred Tree and Its Belief
Near the temple, you will see a powerful tree, called the Ashwatha Tree (Ragi Tree).
People with evil spirits or mental illness are tied to the chains attached to this tree for rituals. They stay here for a few days, and it is believed that they get cured of their problems.
Rooms, Accommodation, and Food
Rooms are available near the temple for devotees who wish to stay overnight. Rooms cost around ₹250, and private rooms are available for about ₹500.
Nearby, you can see the old temple pond (Dharmagundam). Devotees can take a holy bath there.
There is also an Annadanam Satra (free meal center) near the pond, where free meals are served daily at noon.
If you wish, you can also shop for religious items and souvenirs near the temple.

After completing darshan, you can visit Panchamukha Hanuman Temple, located about 1 km downhill from the main temple.
