Sahasra Deepalankara Seva Tirumala 2025,Sevas,Timings

Among the most significant rituals is Sahasra Deepalankara Seva that is offered in Tirupati in the temple of Tirumala Venkateswara. Sahasra is the word which can be translated as one thousand and Deepalankara as the adorning with lamps. Lord Venkateswara is adorned with thousands of lamps in this seva to make the atmosphere around the deity heavenly and beautiful. The followers of this faith think that the engagement in this seva would eliminate darkness in life and instill peace, happiness, and prosperity.

This seva occurs nightly of the day in the evening at the temple. Approximately 1,000 lamps are lit and Lord Venkateswara is offered flowers and incense and recitation of hymns. This ritual is accompanied with the golden idol of the Lord, or, in other words, Utsava Murthy. The vision of the god with a lot of light is really tremendous and gives worshippers heartfelt devotion.

The tickets to Sahasra Deepalankara Seva is scarce and there are normally 1,000 Devotees are allowed on a given day. A ticket costs approximately 200 INR per head and one can book the ticket online or at the temple counters. This is one of the seva that many pilgrims who visit Tirumala ensure that they do since it is said to bring good fortune, health and spiritual development to the families.

What Happens During the Seva

Light and devotion are the order of the day during Sahasra Deepalankara Seva when Lord Venkateswara is worshiped. this is a seva which begins in the evening within the Tirumala temple. Priests carry the idol of the Lord called Utsava Murthy that is of gold and offer it beautifully adorned with flowers and ornaments.

About 1, 000 lamps are lit around the deity. The lamps give a very serene and godly effect. Priests recite Vedic mantras and hymns and devotees sing songs of prayer. The seva is made very special by the sound of music as well as the light of the lamps.

When making the offering, the Lord is given flowers, tulasi leaves, incense and camphor. The priests use lamps lit and sway them before the deity as aarti. This is observed with clasped hands by devotees in hopes of blessings.

The seva takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. During this period we all have a strong attachment to the Lord. It is assumed that serving at the seva eliminates bad energy, brings peace of mind, and brings luck. Devotees are offered prasadam at the end of the seitva and this is regarded as very sacred. The entire experience brings the devotees happiness, belief and religious contentment.
