Sarangpur Hanuman Temple is one of the most sacred temples in India, dedicated to Hanuman, and it is Known as Kashtabhanjan Hanuman remover of all sorrows. It is a very famous temple for providing solace and peace to the devotees who are facing difficulties. It was established in 1758 by Sadguru Gopalanand Swami. To reach the Sarangpur Hanuman Temple in Sarangpur, Gujarat, you can use these simple steps:
By Air: The closest airport is Bhavnagar Airport for this temple and it about 84 km away. You can also fly to Ahmedabad Airport (153 km away). From the airport take a taxi or bus to Sarangpur.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Botad Junction which has a range about 10-13 km from the temple. You can take a train to Botad from cities like Ahmedabad or Mumbai. From Botad hire an auto-rickshaw or taxi to reach the temple, Ask for the natives for the directions and the Ticket Cost.
By Bus: Sarangpur is well connected by road. You can take a bus from Ahmedabad (153 km),Bhavnagar (82 km) or other nearby cities. Buses stop at Botad Bus Station (13 km from the temple) and you can take a taxi or auto-rickshaw from there.
By Car: If driving Sarangpur is about 153 km from Ahmedabad. Use the Botad-Barwala State Highway to reach the temple. There is a parking area near the temple.
Preparing for Darshan
Let’s head for the darshan of Kashtbhanjan Dev. You need to leave your footwear here. Outside the temple, you can buy coconuts and prasadam, with coconuts costing ₹20. [Friends, behind me is the main temple of Kashtbhanjan Dev. The doors are currently closed but will open soon.
History of Kashtbhanjan Dev Temple
This temple was built in the 19th century by Gopalanand Swami. When the idol was installed, Gopalanand Swami touched it with a stick, and the idol began to move. It’s believed that Lord Hanuman resides here, and since then, this temple has become a center of faith for millions. Devotees who visit here have their troubles removed, and their wishes are fulfilled. The temple was constructed using 45 kg of gold and 95 kg of silver. I’ve completed the darshan of Dada (Lord Hanuman).
Prasadam and Donation Counters
Next to the temple, there’s a counter for donations and prasadam. You can get Sukhdi (a sweet) as prasadam for ₹25, ₹50, or ₹100. You can also make donations via QR code. In front, there’s another temple gate, the Hare Krishna Bhavan, and behind it is the White House Dharmashala. There’s also the main temple, Shri Hari Temple, a newly built dining hall, and a religious site ahead. It’s a very beautiful and captivating temple.
Shri Hari Temple and Its Significance
Meditating here fulfills all your wishes. Lord Swaminarayan used to bathe sitting on a stone, and you can have darshan of that prasadi stone here. The temple’s canopy is made of wood, and there’s a stunning chandelier. The architecture reflects an old-style design. Within the temple complex, there’s also the Nilkanth Mahadev Temple. Lord Swaminarayan used to worship here whenever he visited Sarangpur.

There’s also Raja Jiv Khachar’s court here, where Lord Swaminarayan used to stay when he visited Sarangpur. Wheelchairs and locker facilities are available here.in front is the Swaminarayan Guest House, where you can stay if you arrive at night and want to perform bhajans. Right next to it is the Kashtbhanjan Guest House.
Accommodation Details
To book rooms, you need to come to the Swaminarayan Guest House. Room charges here are ₹800 for a non-AC two-bed room and ₹1500 for an AC two-bed room with an attached bathroom.
At the Kashtbhanjan Guest House, you can get a non-AC dormitory for ₹300 and an AC dormitory for ₹700. If you want to stay for free with your family, you can stay in the basement of the Swaminarayan Guest House. For men only, there’s a free dormitory upstairs, accessible by lift.
Inside the Guest House
I’ve booked a room here. You can see a nice three-bed setup with a fan. There’s a large dry area in the washroom, a wet area for bathing, hot water, a washbasin with liquid soap and a side table with a booklet containing information about darshan, the temple’s social media, and website.
Outside the room, there’s a luggage storage area.In the basement of the Swaminarayan Guest House, there’s a general hall for families where you can stay for free.

You can see washrooms here and a lift to go upstairs. This is the family general hall where you can spread mattresses and sleep comfortably with your family at no cost.
In the Kashtbhanjan Guest House basement, there’s a free general hall for men only. Let me show you the basement. This is a huge hall with some beds and washroom facilities. There’s also a locker area here.
Canteen and Food Options
The menu is displayed outside the canteen, where there’s ample seating. It looks small from the outside but is spacious inside.
All food is served without onion or garlic, and it’s self-service, so you need to collect your food after ordering.

You can get prasadi water here for ₹10 per bottle. Next to it is the Shri Vadtal Dham religious store, where you can find mantra threads, kanthi, japa mala, kitchen stickers, shirts for ₹300, and framed photos of Dada in various designs and prices
