The Surutapalli Temple, more commonly known as Pallikondeswara Temple is one of the most famous temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located in the village of Surutupalle in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, it is a temple with the statue of Lord Shiva sitting in a reclined posture with his consort Parvati holding him on her lap. This unique temple refers to the story where Lord Shiva consumed the poison Halahala, within his neck, when the ocean of milk was churned.

Between 1344 and 1347 King Harihara Bukka Raya of the Vijayanagara Empire built this place with beautiful architecture, including the gopuram, a gateway tower with three tiers. The temple is open from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm in the morning and from 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the evening. The Darshan ticket for special darshan costs Rs. 50 per person. The temple performs six daily rituals and five yearly festivals, with Aipassi Annabishekam being the principal festival. This temple is administered by the State Institute of Temple Administration (SITA) of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

• Kalyanotsavam – The ceremonial wedding of Lord Shiva and Parvati held on special occasions.
