The Ala Shrine and Archana Seva have been practiced since 1518 AD. Devotees who participate in this seva have their names and gotras included in the recitation, invoking the Lord’s blessings specifically for them. The seva is performed in the early morning hours, starting at 4:30 AM and lasts for about an hour. It is conducted three times a day but devotees are allowed to participate only in the morning session on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
The Archana Seva is a cherished opportunity for devotees to witness the Lord closely and experience the divine atmosphere of the temple. The ritual begins with the offering of dhupa (arti stick) and dipa (lit lamp) to the main deity, followed by the recitation of the 1008 names of the Lord. The flowers used in the seva are placed at the feet of Lord Venkateswara, symbolizing the devotion and reverence of the devotees. The ticket for this seva costs INR 220, and each ticket allows one person to participate. Devotees also receive prasadam, which includes two small laddus. The seva is a deeply spiritual experience, providing devotees with a sense of peace and fulfillment.
