How Hindus Perform The Rahu Ketu

  1. Visit the ticket counter to book your desired puja ticket. Tickets are available for 150 Rupees and 300 Rupees at one counter. Tickets priced at 750 Rupees and 1500 Rupees are sold near the puja hall. Special puja tickets priced at 2500 Rupees and 5000 Rupees are sold separately.
  2. Upon entering the puja hall, devotees are seated in rows on the floor. Sevaks or volunteers provide the puja materials and assist in getting ready for the ritual. A priest (purohit) and his assistant guide devotees on how to arrange the articles and start the puja.
  3. Devotees are given two silver idols—one representing Rahu and the other representing Ketu. Follow the instructions of the priest carefully to perform the puja correctly. The ritual typically involves offerings, chants, and prayers directed towards mitigating the effects of Rahu and Ketu in one’s horoscope.
  4. After completing the puja, devotees are instructed to collect the Rahu and Ketu idols and place them in the Swami vari Hundi (donation box) after having darshan (viewing) of the main deity.

Performing Rahu Ketu Puja at Srikalahasti Temple is believed to alleviate doshas (malefic influences) associated with these planets bringing peace and prosperity to the devotee’s life.

After the puja it’s advised not to take a bath at the temple or leave behind old clothes. Devotees can proceed directly for darshan and return home.

There are different halls for the 1500 Rupees and 2500 Rupees pujas near the temple. The 5000 Rupees puja is conducted inside the temple itself. While the benefits of all pujas are the same, the satisfaction of devotees is prioritized.

This ensures that devotees have clarity on post puja instructions and understand the arrangements for different puja categories at Srikalahasti Temple.
